This is a new feature I have introduced, with the intention of increasing the impact of the Society website, and providing more online content. Articles are expected to supplement the existing content by providing informative features, aimed at either novice, intermediate or advanced audiences. A novice audience would be the lay public, with a limited knowledge of science. The intermediate and expert levels are for readers with a scientific background, with the expert level appealing specifically to practitioners in MIP research.
As a registered user of the Society, you may upload content for consideration. I may also contact some individuals for contributions. Suitable topics for articles may include highlighting a publication or publications that you found particularly interesting, presenting a new technique or methodology, or explaining some aspect of your science to a lay audience. Where appropriate, references should be given citing the DOI of articles. Up to 5 simple figures can be included, bearing in mind the size limitation, so complex schemes are not really viable. You can upload content yourself via the website, alternatively you may send it to me for formatting and uploading. I will aim to provide the audio version of the article, or, if you feel up to it, you can send me your own audio file of you reading the text of your article.
If you have other ideas for content, I would love to hear them. Send your suggestions to mike@mipdatabase.com with "SMI website" in the subject line.
I reserve the option to edit your content or request you to modify it to improve clarity, where needed.
